Food Detox - Myths and Truths!

The food we eat is our body’s fuel. As such, the quality of the food we eat has a direct impact on our health and well-being. A detox diet can help detoxify the body, increasing energy and improving digestion. However, there are many myths regarding detox diets. In this article, we’re going to clear up some of these myths and show you how a detox diet can benefit you.

What is detox?

Nowadays there has been a lot of talk about Detox, green juice, Green Juice, detoxification, but what is it anyway? That’s what we’re going to explain and demystify here.

Detox or detoxification is the metabolization of substances that are foreign to our body, that is, dyes, chemicals, etc. these substances are called xenobiotics.

Normally we ingest these substances that are toxic to our organism when we have a diet with excesses and mainly with processed foods. Therefore, our body needs to excrete these toxins as easily as possible.

Where does Detox or detoxification take place?

The Detox or detoxification process takes place when harmful substances are eliminated from our body. This process is carried out mainly by the liver and intestine organs, which are responsible for filtering the impurities present in the blood. Detoxification can be done through a healthy diet, eating foods rich in fiber and nutrients, which help the bodies responsible for the process. It is also possible to make use of natural supplements to help detoxify the body.

When does Detox occur in our body?

In fact, detoxification occurs in our organism all the time and in a natural way, that’s right, you “step on the ball” and our organism is like crazy working to fight it and there is no need for a specific diet thinking that this detoxification will only happen at that moment when we eat certain foods.

So I need a food or supplement that will “Detox” happen?

The answer to that is no. What food will actually interfere with this process is to influence the speed of increasing or decreasing the effectiveness of our enzymes that are responsible for this process.

The foods that facilitate this process are foods rich in vitamins, minerals and antioxidants. As well as some natural supplements antioxidants can also help detoxify the body.

I abused it at a party or on a trip. Do I have to do a detox diet?

Many people after a party or a trip where they usually abuse drinks or some more processed foods find that they need to do a specific diet or detox supplementation to “clean up” the body faster.

You don’t have to do this. In fact, what you need is to return to your balanced diet, rich in vegetables, fruits and greens, of course, paying attention to calories and if, by the way, you are still not making this your eating routine, that is where your mistake lies. It’s not just the green juice the next day, which does contain great nutrients, it’s going to do that for you.

It is also worth mentioning that physical exercises and, of course, the intake of fluids in the right amount will also help your body to take care of doing the Detox on its own.  So if you have a healthy routine, just get back to it and it won’t be a party or trip at the end of the week that will disrupt your body, however if you don’t have a healthy diet and exercise regularly, we strongly recommend that you do.< /p>

Conclusion

In conclusion, detox or detoxification occurs naturally in our body all the time and what we can do to keep our body working well and facilitate this is: eat well and regularly, exercise and drink plenty of fluids. With a balanced diet and an exercise routine, we can help our body to function more efficiently, favoring detoxification. In addition, ingesting plenty of fluids is also important to keep the body hydrated, facilitating the elimination of toxins by the urinary system.
