Much more than an anecdote, these people take care of plants with all the care and attention, dedicating their lives to making showy flora grow. They grow plants not only in backyards, but even in their apartments

One of the secrets of the success of these plant fathers and mothers is to talk to these living beings. We will see the best way to do this. Learn to talk to plants!

Why talk to plants? – Learn to talk to plants

It is already scientifically proven that, although plants do not exactly have ears, sounds interfere with their lives. In this way, it has become increasingly common for large herbaria and floriculture in general to have a sound box in their planting sites. Classical music can favor, for example, the productivity of fruit trees.

But you don’t need to know how to sing to influence the development of plants. A good conversation, affectionate and “by the ear” can mean improvements in the appearance and vitality of your plants.

Learn to talk to plants

We separate some general tips on how to talk to plants. These tips can be used for any species of plant, from the largest to the smallest, from fruitful to ornamental. Practice and observe the result in each one of them.

First tip: observe

You don’t start a conversation with anyone behind a wall. So we need to look each other in the eye to get the best out of a friendly conversation. With plants it is no different. As they don’t have eyes, ears or organs that allow us to understand their feelings, close observation is the first step in knowing what to say. Look at the colors of the plant, both the intense green of the leaves and the vibrant colors of the flowers. Try to interpret what messages the plant wants to convey with these colors. In what ways she might also be trying to communicate with the world around her. Indeed, vibrant colors can send a message of danger to predators, for example.

Second tip: empathize with the plant

From observation, put yourself in place. A rose bush, for example, has thorns to protect itself from threats. Therefore, try to understand what these threats are and how the plant deals with them on a daily basis. How does a plant react to the wind? Does she bend or resist? Put yourself in place on the plant by imagining every challenge it faces from sunrise to sunset. Understand that she doesn’t move, she adapts to circumstances. Having empathy with plants also means understanding the role they play in the natural balance of the planet, bringing oxygen and filtering the air we breathe. Not to mention the role they play in ensuring the purity of water and protecting springs.

Third tip: respect

By observing and putting yourself in the place of the plant, you can actually exercise respect. That is, don’t touch her in a way that might hurt her, don’t put her in front of a sun she can’t stand. Respect the plant unconditionally, that is, without imagining it as an inferior being. On the other hand, respect means not blindly idolizing the plant. Just look at it as a living being with functions and needs, many of which are the noblest for our life and that of the planet.

Tip Four: Warm Words and Tones

This tip applies to plants, but also to any living being you want to communicate with. The rule is never to use violent or aggressive words. Nor is it interesting to use a very serious or threatening tone of voice. Plants are sensitive to words and feelings, some species more than others. Undoubtedly, by treating plants and people respectfully, life will become less aggressive and violent for everyone.

Fifth tip: Listen

Talk a little, tell about your life and your feelings. Plants can also be friends in this sense. After saying something, wait and listen. The plants won’t speak words back, but the wind and rustling will allow for a dialogue of sorts. Each plant reacts differently to the wind and emits a unique sound. Don’t be shy about interpreting this sound as we interpret words in an ongoing dialogue.

Sixth tip: Routine

Talk to the plants daily. If you can’t, at least establish a fixed routine. Do not forget that the time of plants is different from ours. They watch the sunrise and sunset with a completely different expectation from who controls the lights and technology. They feed at different times. So establish a routine. The tip is to talk at that moment of the care day, when you are going to water the plants, fertilize them or position them.

Don’t feel crazy! Learn to talk to plants

This is perhaps the most precious tip of all: talking to plants is not something for crazy people. You don’t need to rely on scientific articles to prove to anyone about the results of sounds in people’s lives. Firstly, there is nothing more harmless for you and the world than talking to plants. That alone should be enough to talk to them.

If you think the “doesn’t hurt anyone&#8221? is not enough, think from the other side. Talking to plants can even be a positive stimulus for our own mind. It can often be the moment when we work out good feelings, when we leave some space in the day to take care of something that makes us feel good.

Finally, listening to and respecting plants is an ethical and smart attitude in a world of global warming and climate disasters. We all know how important plants are in the care of the planet. Many times we can thank them in the simplest way: just say thank you to them, with beautiful and sincere words. Learn to talk to plants!
